Stony Bay
Stony Bay is at the end of the road on the north eastern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand.
It is absloutely glorious in summer, when the beach is lined with flowering Pohutakawa trees. These grand old trees are hundreds of years old. They can live up to 1000 years. Their gnarled and stately branches create a sculptural vista all along the beach.
As you can see,The beach is covered with stones and the water here is a beautiful light turquoise colour.
