I have over a period of years, been drawn to painting both landscapes and flowers. What is beginning to emerge now in my work is a synthesis of these two elements. I am also seeing a return to a concept which I explored in my very early works, of layered stories within the work. I feel a tension here between my desire to look at the beautiful flower and receive its energy, and yet I keep being drawn to the enigmatic landscape in the background.

By introducing the structural window elements into the flower paintings I instinctively married the masculine and feminine in a magical synthesis - a very exciting development for me.
